Life Experience

My working life mirrors that of many neurodivergent people - full of variety, just the way I like it!

My interests in assessments, and disability research has intersected and drives my work at Kinunity Psychology. My clinical psychology experience, and research work in academia led me to work for seven years in the EdTech industry, at a Canadian tech company that develops and delivers online assessments. I’m also a published author in peer reviewed scientific journals, and my work has been presented at International Conferences.

My multiple neurodivergence was discovered (too) many decades into my adult life - all of a sudden, everything made sense!

My lived experience provides for genuine connection and understanding in both therapeutic work and assessment sessions.

Life Experience

I am a Health Psychologist originally trained in the UK and now based in Australia, where I have lived and worked since 2007. Over the years, I have worked extensively across regional and rural communities in Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. While working clinically at Kinunity Psychology, I continue my work in academia and research. These experiences have shaped a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives, the importance of community, and the ways place, body and story all influence wellbeing.

My work is grounded in an understanding of the close and ongoing relationship between mind and body. Much of my clinical experience has been supporting people living with long‑term physical health conditions, particularly diabetes, as well as chronic pain, and the emotional toll that can accompany ongoing health challenges. More recently, I have worked with veterans and their families through Open Arms, supporting people living with PTSD, related to both military and civilian life.

I bring both professional training and lived experience into the therapy space. Living with PTSD and recognising my own neurodivergence later in life has deepened my empathy and shaped how I work alongside others. I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship that is respectful, collaborative and curious, where people feel safe to explore their experiences at their own pace.

My approach focuses on helping you make sense of how you arrived where you are now, gently exploring what matters to you, and supporting you to move toward where you would like to be. Therapy is not about fixing or forcing change, but about understanding patterns, reconnecting with your body and values, and finding ways forward that feel meaningful and sustainable for you.

I draw on Rogerian, mindfulness‑based, acceptance and embodied approaches, and I also use EMDR where appropriate. My work is guided by compassion, curiosity and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing within the context of their own life and community.

The Best Boy

Life Experience

Excellent at barking at noises outside, begging for pats and tummy rubs.
Excellent at eating things he shouldn’t - such as bees, glass, and buttons.

Theodore loves his job. During most online sessions, you’ll find him sitting in Krysia’s lap, ready to carry out his one task of greeting his new friends (that’s you) during their sessions.

Sometimes, he can’t break away from lying in the sun, but he quickly remembers his role as soon as he hears Krysia say “Hello” at the beginning of a session, and he’ll run into the office to resume his duties.

He’s also known as the CIO - Chief Inspector Officer - due to his need of knowing what’s going on, with everyone, and every thing, at all times.

He can’t wait to meet you, and fall asleep immediately after.
