
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Fees:
We acknowledge that accessing Psychological Therapy and administering Assessments is a privilege. Our Fees are based on the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi) recommendations for Psychological Services for 2025 - 2026. AAPi recommends Psychological fees are to be charged at $330 per hour, however, to make assessments and therapy as affordable as possible, we do not charge the full amount.
For transparency we would like to share what the fee covers.
Your Therapy Fee covers your appointments, your psychologist’s time, and the time your psychologist prepares, plans and researches information required for your sessions. Your Assessment Fee covers your appointments, the cost of the assessments, and the time your psychologist spends preparing for your appointments, scoring and interpreting your assessments/questionnaires and preparing your Report or Letter. Just as no two individuals are the same, no two sessions or Reports or Letters are the same, and as such we take great care to make sure our Reports and Letters reflect you as an individual, rather than a template of copy and pasted material.

Appointment Fees:
Therapy Appointments:
Without Referral: A 20% Deposit of your Appointment Fee is payable at the time of booking to secure your appointment time.
With Referral: As you will receive a Medicare Rebate, you will not need to pay the 20% Deposit to secure your appointment time. Your Fee will be processed as per below.
Kinunity Psychology will process the Balance of your Appointment Fee (or Total Fee if Referral provided), at 9:00am two (2) days before your appointment, via Halaxy.
You will receive Appointment Reminder Communication leading up to your Appointment. Please ensure funds are available in your account at 9:00am two (2) days before your Appointment to ensure a successful transaction. If you do not receive the Appointment Reminder Communication, you must advise Kinunity Psychology in advance of two (2) days before your Appointment. You will receive confirmation that your payment has been completed.
Assessment Appointments:
A 20% Deposit of your Appointment 1 Fee is payable at the time of booking to secure your appointment time, and as part of the costs associated with distributing, scoring and interpreting the pre-appointment assessments. This fee will in-part cover work undertaken by the psychologist to be completed before your assessment appointment. It will contribute to your total assessment fee.
Kinunity Psychology will process the Balance of your Appointment 1 Fee at 9:00am two (2) days before your appointment, via Halaxy.
For ADHD Assessments and Autism Assessments: After attending your first appointment, you can book your second appointment. Kinunity Psychology will process the Balance of your Assessment Fee, at 9:00am two (2) days before your second appointment, via Halaxy.
For the combined ADHD & Autism Assessment: Appointment 2 payment will be processed at 9:00am two (2) days before your second appointment, via Halaxy. Appointment 3 payment will be processed at 9:00am two (2) days before your third appointment, via Halaxy.
You will receive Appointment Reminder Communication leading up to your Appointments. If you do not receive the Appointment Reminder Communication, you must advise Kinunity Psychology in advance of two (2) days before your Appointment. You will receive confirmation that your payment has been completed.
If you think you would like to apply to NDIS, please speak to your Psychologist as there may be an additional fee to cover NDIS Report writing requirements.
Balance of Fees:
You are required to complete and return a Payment Authority Form that will enable us to process the Balance of your Therapy/Assessment Fees to provide our services. Kinunity Psychology do not keep your Credit Card details on file. Your Credit Card Details will be stored on a secure third party platform, Halaxy.
For All Services:
If payment of your Balance of Fees is unsuccessful, we will contact you for payment via email with a link to pay the balance. If payment is not processed that business day (the due date), you will need to reschedule your appointment.
If you do not reschedule your appointment within the two (2) days between the unsuccessful payment transaction and your original appointment, this will be treated as a cancellation and you will incur a 100% fee.
Failure to advise Kinunity Psychology that you did not receive Appointment Reminder communication or notification of the unsuccessful payment transaction, is not grounds for waiving the above fees.
Cancellations:
A Cancellation Policy is in place due to the work undertaken to prepare for your appointments.
Kinunity Psychology reserves the right to use their discretion if, and as, required. If you need to cancel your appointment please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can try to minimise your cancellation fees, and we can try to fill your space.
For the Initial Appointment:
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 8 or more days notice will not incur a fee.
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 4 - 7 days notice will incur a 50% fee of the Initial Appointment Fee.
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 3 or less days notice will incur a 100% fee of the Initial Appointment Fee.
If you do not attend your appointment, this will incur a 100% fee of the Initial Appointment Fee.
For Subsequent Appointments:
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 8 or more days notice will not incur a fee.
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 4 - 7 days notice will incur a 50% fee of the full assessment price.
Providing written notice (via email) of Cancellation with 3 or less days notice will incur a 100% fee of the full Assessment price, and 50% of the Therapy Appointment fee.
If you do not attend your appointment, this will incur a 100% fee of the full appointment price.
Cancellations made outside of normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm) will be treated as received the next business day.
All cancellation requests must be made via email - hello@kinunitypsychology.com.au, we can not accept cancellation notice via text message (SMS) or phone call.
Kinunity Psychology reserves the right to cease services until accounts are paid in full.
